The physicians and staff of Progressive Vision Institute (PVI) have been helping families see better for almost three decades. During this time, their commitment to the finest eye care, ongoing education and surgical excellence has helped make possible the addition of eight locations throughout Pennsylvania.
Progressive Vision’s most recent investment is a new, 12,000-square-foot clinic for eye care at 5201 Hamilton Boulevard in Allentown. This new location includes a state-of-the-art outpatient eye surgery center, ophthalmology exam area, eyeglass/contact lens center and medical spa.
The practice was founded by Solomon C. Luo, MD, FACS—one of the first physicians in the area to use the excimer laser to perform Laser Vision Correction or LASIK Eye Surgery. LASIK has since become a main concentration in Dr. Luo’s practice and he has performed thousands of procedures.
Today, Progressive Vision Institute consists of a dream-team of doctors who can perform virtually all ophthalmic treatments and surgeries. They specialize in: cataract surgery; LASIK and refractive eye surgery; macular degeneration; diabetic eye disease; vitreo-retinal disease and surgery; pediatric retina; oculoplastics; glaucoma care; cosmetic treatments; dry eye management; allergy testing; and low vision. Most locations have a full-service optical center for general eye care needs including glasses and contact lens examinations.
The physicians of Progressive Vision Institute include the following comprehensive ophthalmologists: Solomon C. Luo, MD, FACS; Maria E. Barbe, MD; Shann B. Lin, MD, FACS; Betsy P. Luo, MD; Stella L. Luo, MD; Jonathan Hu, MD; William Kellogg, MD; and Erin Rupell, PA-C. Optometrists on staff include: Aaron Blehm, OD; Ann Marie Blehm, OD; Peggy A. Dixon, OD; Joseph Ellwood, OD; and Julie Snyder, OD.
In addition to Progressive Vision’s newest location in Allentown, PVI also recently opened an office at 2151 Fairview Street in Easton. Other offices are located in Pottsville, Shamokin, Wyomissing, Oaks, and two offices on Bustleton Avenue and Lehigh Avenue in Philadelphia.
Progressive Vision Institute accepts most insurances and recently received the Certificate of Excellence award from the Pennsylvania Healthcare Cost Containment Council in recognition for its commitment to improving the quality and cost of healthcare throughout Pennsylvania.
